ZELLA ESTHER FRESHWATER CARPENTER was born April 30, 1940 in Waverly, West Virginia to the late Lafe and Naomi Stoops Freshwater. She went home to be with her Lord on August 7, 2016 in Temple, Texas at the age of 76. She was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Carpenter, who died in January 2016. She is survived by her son, Tom Carpenter and his wife Jennie; Tom and Jennie's three sons: David and his fianc Sheniece Thomas, Johnathon and his wife Rachel, and Joshua and his girlfriend Nina Tang (with whom she enjoyed spending time); her daughter Joyce and her husband Rick Smith; her sister, Eileen Koford; her brother, Roy Freshwater and his wife Margie and their family; and her sister-in-law, Wanna Carpneter Moore. For her, the circle of life is complete and she is once again reunited with those she loved and who went before her, and will be waiting and watching for those who are here that miss her. Visitation will be Saturday, September 3, 2016 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer, West Virginia. Funeral service will be at 1:00pm with burial to follow at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Reedy, West Virginia.
