WILLIAM L. "BILL" WALTON, 88, of Spencer, West Virginia, went home to be with his Lord on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025 at the Roane General Hospital in Spencer.
He was born July 29, 1936 in Parkersburg, West Virginia, a son of the late John and Clara Wright Walton.  He was the owner and operator of Bill Walton Grocery in Reedy, West Virginia for 31 years.  After retirement he went into the ministry of visiting the sick and shut-ins and was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Spencer.
Bill is survived by his wife of 54 years, Diana Nichols Walton; his son and daughter-in-law, John and Kathleen Walton of Mooresville, North Carolina; a grandson, Jacob Walton of Mooresville; and a sister, Shelva Jean Hayes of Parkersburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Inez Ellison and Carolyn Davis; and two brothers, Russell and Raymond Walton.
A service will be held for Bill at noon on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer, with Pastor Justin Simmons officiating.  Burial will follow at the Good Hope Cemetery near Reedy.  Visiting will be one hour prior to the service at the Funeral home.
