WILLIAM ANANIAS "BILL" ROBERTS, 79, of Spencer, West Virginia passed away Monday, November 25, 2019 at the Miletree Center in Spencer. He was born July 18, 1940 in Elizabeth, West Virginia a son of the late Ray and Virginia Nichols Roberts. Bill was a surveyor by trade and was self-employed for awhile and also worked for Wally Board Surveying and then later Prine Land Surveying. He was also a journeyman electrician, served as the Reedy, West Virginia Fire Chief for awhile and enjoyed golfing and fishing with his buddies. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany for three years. Bill is survived by his wife, Judith Starcher Roberts; one daughter, Gloria Coon of Spencer; one granddaughter, Cristal Coon of Poca, West Virginia; three sisters, Carol Hall of Reedy, Brenda Cottrell of Billings, West Virginia and Barbie Prine of Spencer; and three brothers, Jerald Roberts of Lincoln County, West Virginia, Ray Roberts of Elizabeth, and Roger Roberts of Tennessee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Roberts; and two sisters, Bonnie Scritchfield and Betty Roberts. TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME, Spencer, is in charge of arrangements and per his request, the body was cremated. Burial of his ashes will take place at a later date in the Fairview Cemetery, Reedy. There will be no service or visitation at the funeral home at this time.
