William "Bill" Philip Unger, Sr., 86, of Walton, passed away August 28, 2021 at Roane General Hospital in Spencer.

He was born June 23, 1935 in Folsom, New Jersey and was the son of the late Frank David and Isabella Smith Unger.

Bill graduated from Glassboro High School in Glassboro, New Jersey. He served from 1952 to 1955 in the United States Marine Corp. He was a veteran of the Korean War conflict. He later moved to West Virginia in 1972, to raise his family in a good place. He was retired from the Carpenter's Local 1207.

Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years, Alice Davis Unger of Walton; seven Children, William Unger, Jr. (Tammy), Frank Unger (Sherri), Kevin Unger (Jessica), Brenda Falkowski (Jerry), Debra Raymond, Shirley Blessing (Aron)and Jennifer Hutton (Steven); four sisters, Roberta Fithian, Thelma Phillips, Nancy Sherman and Leticia Unger; grandchildren, Tabitha Hoover, Jonathan Unger, Philip Unger, Scott Lorbacher, Frank Raymond, Carleigh Raymond, Chelsea Raymond, Savannah Unger, Marleigh Unger, Chase Blessing, Aleah Blessing, Logan Unger, Olivia Unger, Cole Hutton and Abigail Hutton; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his two brothers, Edward and Charles Unger; and two sisters, Phyllis Fisher and Olive Reichenbach.

There will be no public services at this time.
