William Wayne (Bill) Bales, 89, of Mount Vernon, OH formerly of Spencer, W.V. passed away November 6, 2024, to be with his heavenly father.

Bill was born July 19, 1935, in Honaker, VA and was the son of the late Lester and Faye Barton Bales.

He served in the United States Army and Air Force and was a member at the Spencer Church of Nazarene where he was on the church board and taught various Sunday School Classes for over 40 years.

He spent his early years as an automotive mechanic at different dealerships before starting and retiring from his own upholstery business.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his five children, Lisa Jordan (Joe Adrian) of Danville, OH, Anita Clark (Scott) of Mt. Vernon, OH, Patricia Rogers (John) of Howard, OH, David Bales of Medina, OH and Robert Bales of Wheeling, WV; eight grandchildren; and six great-children.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Starcher Bales; and seven siblings, Marvin Bales, Sylvan Bales, Charylene Skaggs, Mayo Bales, Dean Bales, Clarence Bales and Deliah Bales.

Services will be at 1:00 P.M. ~ Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home located at 206 Beauty Street Spencer, WV 25276 with son in law Scott Clark officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hebron Cemetery in Roane County, WV.
