CARL HIVELY, 76, of Spencer, West Virginia went home to be with the Lord on January 13, 2017 where he will forever be at peace and no more pain. He will join many loved ones who have gone on before, his father, mother, brother, sister and grandson, Jacob Hively. He was born June 17, 1940 the son of William Eli & Addie Geneva Carpenter Hively of Spencer. He is survived by his loving and caring wife, Cora Hively of 57 years; three children, Vicky Hively Fox and Richard Hively both of Spencer and Patty (Jeff) Metz of Belpre, Ohio; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Faye Wayne of Bradford, Ohio and Carole Carpenter of Spencer. He worked at Monarch Rubber Company for over 30 years and loved his country music. He could play almost any instrument that was put in front of him. He will be greatly missed and we will have peace and comfort in knowing he will no longer suffer in pain. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2017 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer with Rachelle Caldwell officiating. Burial will be at the Egypt Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
