THOMAS F. BROWN, 75, of Mineral Wells, West Virginia, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2020 at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, Ohio. He was born August 3, 1945 at Hopemont, West Virginia, a son of the late Charles E. Brown, Sr. and Louise Rector Brown. He worked in the oil fields for over 40 years, was a U.S. Navy veteran and was member of the St. Johns United Methodist Church in Vienna, West Virginia. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Sharon; two sons, Thomas (Edna) and Kevin (Heather); a sister, Ruby (Jerry) Ruppel; two brothers, Charlie (Sheila) and Jerry (Brenda); three special brothers-in-law, Bob (Dolly) Holland, Bernard Tuell, and Tom Urban; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and his two hobo cats, Midnight and Precious. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Edith Urban. A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at the Clover Cemetery near Spencer with Pastor Phil Dent officiating. There will be no visitation or service at the funeral home. For anyone wishing to attend the graveside service, a procession will leave the funeral home at 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to the American Cancer Society and want to thank Dr. Cawley and the nurses at the Strecker Cancer Center for their compassionate care.
