Thelma Jean Baum, 73, of Spencer, WV passed away December 29, 2022 at Miletree Center in Spencer.

She was born February 12, 1949 in Spencer and was the daughter of the late Russel Remus and Sadie Belle Carpenter Miller.

Jean was a homemaker and had worked at Walmart in the deli. She enjoyed going to church and cooking for her family.

Left behind to cherish her memory is her husband, Richard Duane Baum of Spencer; two sisters, Connie Casto (Clinton) of Hartville, OH and Ruth Casto of Spencer; two brothers, Tim Miller (Brenda) and Chuck Miller (Erma) both of Spencer; sister-in-law, Kathryn Brandenstien of Spencer; brother-in-law, Danny Baum (Grace) of Leatherbark, WV; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Amanda Jean Baum and Sandra Jane Baum Lintner; three brothers, Sam, Ronnie and Levi Miller; and three brothers-in-law, Larry Casto, Leslie Whited and Gerald Brandenstien.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. ~ Monday, January 2, 2023 at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer with Pastor Darin Cale officiating. Burial will follow at Slate Bowers Cemetery in Spencer. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday.
