Ruth A. Turrentine, 82, formerly of Spencer, WV passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at her residence in Alabama.

She was born September 13, 1941 in West Virginia and was the daughter of the late William Thomas Deel and Pauline Lucille Bullis Deel.

She was a loving mother and grandmother who never met a stranger and treated everyone the same, always friendly. She had a big heart and never turned anyone away. Ruth loved going to church, gospel singing and her family. She was employed by Walmart Supercenter working in retail and stocking, prior to her retirement.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Ed and Ricky Turrentine, Sherry Brooks all of AL and Tina Webb of Spencer; brother, David Deel; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Turrentine; brothers, Don and Steve Deel; sister, Rosemary Detweiler; children, Frank Starcher and Billy Wayne Turrentine; and grandchildren, Burly Webb, Jr., Ralph Frederick Starcher and Steven Edward Turrentine.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. ~ Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home ~ 206 Beauty Street Spencer, WV 25276 with burial to follow at Simmons Cemetery in Roane County, WV. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
