Ruth Anna Harper, 79, of Spencer, WV passed away March 28, 2023 at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown, WV after an extended illness.

She was born January 18, 1944 in Spencer and was the daughter of the late Donzel and Eloise Anna Wilson Miller.

She was a secretary for 22 years for West Virginia DHHR. Ruth attended Rush Creek Church and sang for 40 years in the Miller Trio at many churches and benefits. She enjoyed crocheting, going camping with her husband Carroll and her dog "Gigget."

Left behind to cherish her memory, is her loving husband of 59 years, Carroll Dean Harper of Spencer; sister, Barbara Nichols (Gary) of Spencer; brother, Sammie Miller of Ravenswood, WV; brother-in-law, Tom Harper (Martha) of Spencer; sister-in-law, Jewell Ashley of Wadsworth, OH; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters-in-law, Emma Jean "Jeannie" Miller, Dorothy and Mary Harper; and brothers-in-law, Blaine Ashley, Gene and Cecil Harper.

Services will be at 2:00 P.M. ~ Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer, WV with Pastor Danny Whited officiating. Burial will follow at Swank Cemetery in Roane County, WV. Visitation will be one hour prior to service on Sunday at the funeral home.
