RUBY GWENDOLYN SHAVER, 97, of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at her home. She was born February 22, 1919 in Walton, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Isaac and Minnie Noel Whited. She was a devoted mother who loved Jesus, her children, family, friends and always put others before herself. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, and family reunions. Ruby is survived by her children, Everett (Denise) Shaver of Ripley, West Virginia, Gwen (Danny) Jones of Hermitage, Tennessee, Sheri Taylor of Montpelier, Ohio, and John Taylor of Speed, West Virginia; her grandchildren, Cristy, Marty, Jr., Tracy, Alisa, Wendall, Ronnie, Scott, and Robin; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett O. Shaver; a grandson, Greg Taylor; and her siblings, Ival Whited, Joe Whited, Wilford Whited, Mayford Whited, Goldie Whited Lynch, Edna Whited Marks, Alice Whited Boggs, and Azalene Whited Pauley. Service will be at 2:00pm on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer with Pastor Tim Ashley officiating. Burial will follow in the Looney Cemetery near Walton. Visiting will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
