ROY CLINTON SHAFFER, 66, of Fairplain, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025 at the Hubbard Hospice House, surrounded by all his family.
Roy was born in Kanawha County, West Virginia on April 18, 1958 to Violet (Miller) Dunlap.  Roy once worked at Starcher Motors, Tag Galion Chevrolet, and Joe Holland Chevrolet.  He enjoyed working on vehicles doing mechanical work, painting/detailing vehicles, fishing, and hunting.  Anyone that knew Roy could tell you that his family was his pride and joy.
Roy is survived by the love of his life and best friend, his wife of 46 years, Pam Shaffer of Fairplain; two sons, Joe Shaffer of Spencer, West Virginia and Shawn (Chasity) Shaffer of South Charleston, West Virginia; two daughters, Erika Shaffer of Fairplain and Anessa Shaffer of Southport, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Zack Nichols, Josh Nichols, Matthew Nichols, Kami Shaffer, Haleigh Shaffer, Morgan Jett, and Bristol Shaffer;  one great-granddaughter, Shelby Ashby; and two brothers, Alan Shaffer of Clendenin, West Virginia and Dave Shaffer of Reedy, West Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Violet, and several brothers and sisters.
A service will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 at noon at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer with Pastor Jack Roberts officiating.  There will be a one hour visitation prior to the service.  At his request, the body will be cremated with burial at a later time.
