Roy Edward Roton, Sr. passed from a long illness on January 9, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born January 19, 1947 to the late Harley (Smokey) & Rosie Roton.

Roy was a long time resident of Spencer, all who met him loved him.

He was also a Captain for Gandeeville-Harmony Fire Department as well as on the Roane County Emergency Squad & worked at Miller's Trucking over the years before retiring due to health issues.

Roy enjoyed being outdoors hunting & fishing & spending time with his family.

Roy is survived by his wife of 59 years, Judith D Roton, his children Lisa Roton (Greg) , Elizabeth McClain (Brian), Judy Holstein (Randall), Roy Roton, Jr (Angela Lesher) & Debra Rhodes (Shawn) all of Spencer. As well as 15 grandkids, 25 great-grandkids & 2 great-great grandkids. 3 sisters: Christine Wellman (Ed), Phyllis Spencer (Roger) & Linda Boswell.

He was proceeded in death by his son, Benjamin Roton, his parents, sisters: Nancy Daily, Wilma Toler & brothers: James Roton, Jerry Roton & Dewey Roton.

Per his request, his body was cremated. Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, is in charge of arrangements for the Roton family. There will be no public services.
