Roger Lee Hersman, 57, of Spencer passed away July 28, 2021 at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, OH.

He was born February 20, 1964 in Spencer and is the son of Yvonne West Hersman and the late Roy Hersman.

Roger had worked in the oilfield for many years as a well tender. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Larry Hersman and brother-in-law Rick Batten.

Left behind to cherish his memory, is his wife Mischell Carpenter Hersman of Spencer; two children, Megan Springston (Cody) and Dylan Hersman (Jade Hughes) both of Spencer; two sisters, Anna Batten of Spencer and Tammy Eggleston (Bobby) of Ripley; one brother, Jimmy Hersman (Angie) of Spencer; several nieces and nephews; and four special great- nieces and nephews.

Services will be 3:00 PM ~ Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Taylor- Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer, WV with Pastor Jackie Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery on Zion Ridge. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until time of service on Sunday.
