Roger Lee Balser, Sr., 69, of Spencer, WV passed away November 28, 2023 at his residence.

He was born March 3, 1954 in Ripley, WV and was the son of the late Carl and Leona Lawson Balser.

Roger enjoyed spending time with family and visiting with his friends.

Left behind to cherish his memory, are his three children, Christopher Balser of Spencer, Angie Dean (Harvey) of Charleston, WV and Crystal Watson (Greg) of Spencer; three sisters, Thelma Tribble SC, Teresa Burdine of Evans, WV and Mary Hively of OH; four grandchildren, Brandon Webb, Zachary Dean, Kylie Watson and Colby Carpenter; two great-grandchildren, Jaxon Dean and Rhiannon Webb; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Melody Criner Balser; an infant daughter, Teresa Balser; son, Roger "RJ" Lee Balser, Jr; and siblings, Betty, Howard, Dick, Ruth and Nancy.

A memorial service will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer with Pastor Jackie Roberts officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday.
