ROBERT CECIL "BOB" RUSSELL, JR., 87, of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away Friday, July 22, 2016 at Hubbard House West in South Charleston, West Virginia. He was born January 8, 1929 in Roane County, a son of the late Robert C. Russell Sr. and Dessie Hanshaw Russell Martin. He was a former teamster truckdriver for Smith Transfer and retired from Carolina Freight, a member of Linden Lodge #83 A.F. & A.M. and attended the Faith Baptist Church in Spencer. Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Loretta Ash Russell; two sons, Gary Russell of Charleston, West Virginia and Greg Russell of Spencer; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Russell. A memorial service will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer with Bill Walton and Pastor Justin Simmons officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Faith Baptist Church, 237 Arnoldsburg Road, Spencer, WV 25276.
