Robert Richard Carpenter, 74, of Reedy, WV passed away November 27, 2021 at his residence after a short illness.

He was born March 25, 1947 in Reedy, WV and was the son of the late Oden and Audra Horton Carpenter and step-mother, Macel Carpenter.

Richard had worked as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of Gilboa Baptist Church. He was the Chief of the Reedy Fire Department.

Left behind to cherish his memory, is his wife of 39 years, Edna June Carpenter; two children, Eva Electa Carpenter of Fairmont, WV and John Carpenter (Amanda) of Berkley Springs, WV; three grandchildren, Cadence, Aiden and Addison Carpenter all of Berkley Springs, WV ; two sisters, Dotty Lou Hersman of Spencer and Sylvia Nell Gibson of Reedy; step-brother David Bowe (Macel Sue) of Reedy, WV; step-sister, Jorita Parsons of Spencer; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-sister, Geneva McCumbers.

A gathering will take place at 12:00 P.M. ~ Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the Reedy Volunteer Fire Department in Reedy, WV.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made in memory of Richard to Gilboa Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.
