Richard Sherman Chambers, 73, beloved husband, father, grandfather and Army veteran passed away on October 10, 2024 in Parkersburg, WV.

Richard was born August 2, 1951 in Roane County, WV to the proud parents of Frank and Sylvia Barnhouse Chambers. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Richard lived a full and joyful life surrounded by his loving family.

Richard was a beloved husband and devoted father, he is survived by his wife, Cheryl of Spencer; five children, Lisa Taylor (Brian), Kelly Carper (Jon), Misty Bennett (Jon), Tracy Harrison (Andy) and Adam Chambers (Nicole); two sisters, Kay Smith (Jim) and Janice Ward (Ronnie). His legacy lives on through children, 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. His presence will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

Richard was known for his green thumb and passion for gardening and farming. He would often be found tending tot his plants, caring for his animals, or building something in his workshop. He leaves behind a cherished legacy of hard work, dedication and love for his family.

Our hearts are heavy as we say farewell to Richard Chambers, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. May he rest in peace knowing he was loved and will be remembered always.

Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. ~ Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Otto Cemetery with Pastor Danny Whited officiating.
