Phillip Eugene Lawrence, Sr., 81, of Sanford, NC formerly of Spencer, WV passed away December 29, 2022 in Sanford, NC.

He was born February 12, 1941 in Chesapeake, WV and was the son of the late Ruth Mae Clark and Archie L. Lawrence, Sr.

Phillip was a United States Navy veteran, meat manager. He enjoyed preaching, yard work and spending time with his family.

Left behind to cherish his memory, is his daughter, Cindy Kirk of Chesapeake, WV; three sons, Robert Lawrence (Jennifer) of Reedy, WV, Phillip E. Lawrence, Jr. (Sonja) of Sanford, NC and Brian Lawrence (Tabitha) of Amma, WV; sister, Frances Long of Winifrede, WV; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Fay Lawrence; twin sister, Jean Hardman; sister, Allene McMillan; and brother, Archie L. Lawrence, Jr.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. ~ Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer, WV. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Roane County, WV. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
