Oren James Tallman, Sr. 94, of Leroy, WV., passed away January 25, 2021 at Roane General Hospital, Spencer, WV. after an extended illness. He was born September 25, 1926, in Leroy, WV, a son of Asa Delbert and Natalie Tallman. He spent his adult life working in auto parts and service for NAPA, Parrish Motors, and Denbigh-Garrett for 45 years until his retirement in 1992. He enjoyed being with family and working on his farm. He loved sharing his stories of his younger days with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was a talented mechanic and passed his gift on to other members of the family. He especially enjoyed "touring" with his grandson, Seth. He was a member of the Liverpool United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Lenore Tallman, and brothers, Robert Tallman, Howard Tallman, Delbert Tallman, and Homer Tallman. Also, grandson, Tim Boothe, great grandson, Garrett Simmers, and son-in-law, Roger Cox. He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and David Boothe of Reedy, WV, Janet and Steve Walker of Kingsport, TN, Judith Cox of Parkersburg, WV, and Doris and Ronnie Terrell of Reedy; a son and daughter-in-law James II and Carla Tallman of Leroy, WV; nine grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. A family graveside service will be held Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Ravenswood Cemetery in Ravenswood, WV. Rev. James Ellis of Sissonsville, WV will officiate. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Judes Children's Hospital, Wounded Warrior Project, or Roane County Animal Shelter. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of RGSN unit for their excellent care and compassion.
