NITA MAE HICKEL, 74, of Spencer, West Virginia, died September 27, 2022 at Mountain View Care Center in Ripley, West Virginia.
She was born July 7, 1948 in Charleston, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Brady and Juanita Hickel. She retired from DuPont Washington Works in Parkersburg, West Virginia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by and infant sister, Betty Lou, and a brother, Brady "Donnie" Hickel III.
Nita is survived by brothers, Gary Schiefer (Barb), John Hickel (Amy), David Hickel (Trish), and William "Bill" Hickel (Connie); also many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews; many cousins; and a special friend, Stephen Hughes.
Service will be at 1:00pm on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer with her brother, Gary Schiefer, officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Given, West Virginia. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the funeral home.
