Myrtle Grace (Brannon) Carpenter of Arnoldsburg passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022, after a brief illness. She was born July 2, 1930, in Roane County, WV to the late Wyatt & Hazel (Wallbrown) Brannon. After graduating from Calhoun Co. High School, she was employed by Calhoun Co. Schools then spent many years with Calhoun General Hospital. Myrtle's life was lived loving & caring for her family, her retirement years revolved around her sons & grandchildren.
Myrtle was preceded in death by husband Gay "Buck" Carpenter, grandson Damien G. Carpenter, one sister Pearl Eldean Zimmerman & her parents.
Surviving is one brother Richard D. (Dottie) Brannon. Sons Ronald G. (Jane) Carpenter, Jearold S. (Beckie) Carpenter & Jeffrey W. (Tami) Carpenter. Grandchildren Amy (Wesley) Rogers, Heather Whaley, Megan (Ashley) Winkler, Amanda Beth (Daniel) Jenkins, Joshua W. (Natasha) Carpenter, Zachariah Carpenter & Kaitlin Carpenter. Twelve great-granddaughters, seven great-grandsons & one great-great granddaughter. Visitation & services will be held Monday, January 24th at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, WV. Visitation will be at 11:00 followed by service at 12:00 noon with Shelly Hall Mace officiating. Burial will be in the Orma Cemetery, Orma, WV.
