Melody Lee McCroskey, 61, of St. Albans, WV, formerly of Spencer, WV passed away October 2, 2026 at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, WV.

Melody was born October 25, 1964 in Spencer and was the daughter of the late Jack Lee and Elsie Kay Wyatt Miller.

Melody had worked in housekeeping at West Virginia State University. She enjoyed playing Rummy and Solitaire. Melody also collected Longaberger Baskets; and loved to weed eat and the color purple.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her two brothers, Leonard Miller (Chris) of Spencer and Jerry Miller (Denise) of St. Albans; two nieces, Courtney Cox (Matt) of Gandeeville, WV and Ashton Humphreys (Daniel) of Spencer; one nephew, Alex Miller (Gabby) of Florida; seven great-nieces and nephews, Kynnlea, Charli, Ben, Alex, Eliza, Oakley and Willow; special best friend, cousin and sister, Shawnetta “Shawny” Miller of St Albans; and a nephew of the heart, Daniel Riggs of St. Albans.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her special companion, her dog, Molly.

Services will be 12 PM ~ Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home located at 206 Beauty Street Spencer, WV 25276 with Danny Miller officiating with burial to follow at Craig Ridge – Miller Family Cemetery in Roane County. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
