MARY MAGDALENE PAULEY PAINTER, 88, of Gandeeville, WV died November 9, 2016 at Miletree Health Care Center, Spencer, WV. She was a Protestant by faith and a loving mother and wife. She enjoyed farming and gardening with her husband. After her children were raised, she enrolled in the Nurse's Aide Program at the Roane-Jackson Technical Center where she received her certification. She was an adventuresome person and decided to become a school bus driver where she provided service for the students of Roane County for several years until her retirement. She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, D.S. Painter, three brothers and five sisters. She is survived by two sisters, Pauline and husband Freeman Newhouse of Sissonville, WV and Kay and husband Tim of Pinch, WV and one brother, Glen and wife Carol Pauley of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. She is also survived by her four children, Dicky Daymond Painter and wife Royetta of Elkview, WV, Joseph Leslie Painter and wife Myra of Gandeeville, Joyce Diane Greathouse and husband, Jim of Gandeeville, and Pamela Jill Putzulu of Buckhannon, WV. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Melissa (Painter) and husband Brian Henderson, Mary Beth (Painter) and husband Jeff Tanner, Matthew Painter and wife Michelle, Mark Greathouse, Maggie (Greathouse) and husband Craig Webb, Tyler Putzulu, and Lindsey Putzulu and six great-grandchildren, Kristen and Courtni Henderson, Joseph Daymond (J.D.) and Jebediah Painter, and Zane and Brock Tanner. Service will be 1:00pm Friday, November 11, 2016 at the Gandeeville Community Church, Gandeeville, with visitation from 11:00am until time of the service with Rev. Larry Greathouse officiating. Burial will be in the Rocky Branch Cemetery near Walton, WV. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Miletree Health Care Center, 825 Summit Street, Spencer, WV 25276.
