MARY EVELYN FISHER HARRIS, 97 ½ years old, of Spencer, West Virginia went home to be with her Lord on May 7, 2017 at the Roane General Hospital, Spencer. She was born November 7, 1919 in Roane County, a daughter of the late Anthony Columbus Holland and Arletta Holland Boggs. She worked in index printing at Casto & Harris in Spencer and formerly worked at OJ Morrisons in Spencer. She loved watching birds, reading and traveling and attended the Pleasant Grove Independent Church. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Glenda Fisher of Spencer; three step-sons, John , Danny and Steve Harris of Charleston, West Virginia; one grandchild, Dawn Bush; two step-grandsons, Blair and Adam Harris and a very special niece and friend, Gertrude Holland. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Brice E. Fisher; second husband, Homer M. Harris; two sons, Edward and Robert Fisher; two great-grandchildren; and siblings, Cecil, Virgil, Holly, Roy, Elsie, Icie, Blanche, Josephine, and Beulah. Service 2:00pm Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME, Spencer, with Pastor John Ellison officiating. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday.
