Martha Jayne Atkinson, 68, of Spencer, WV, formerly of Jacksonville, FL passed away May 28, 2019 following a courageous battle with cancer at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg, WV. Jayne was born April 18, 1951 in West Palm Beach, FL and was preceded in death by parents Ord and Martha Atkinson of Spencer, WV and brother Quentin (Mary). She is survived by daughters, Laura Hernandez (Brian), Ami Williams, Becki Brown (Mark) and son, Jared Bell, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Following a successful career, Jayne retired to her family's ancestral home in Spencer, WV, where she joined Peniel Community Church, and became an impactful part of the local community. Jayne was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the United Daughters of the Confederacy,bn and her hobbies included crocheting, cooking, gardening, and enjoying the beauty of God's creations surrounding her home on Colt Ridge. A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, May 31, 2019 at 12:00 pm at the Peniel Community Church, Peniel, WV with Pastor Tim Couch officiating. Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
