MARGIE MARIE SMITH, 93, formerly of Otto, West Virginia passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Huntington, West Virginia. Margie was born January 10, 1924 at Tariff, West Virginia, a daughter of the late William Albert Bower and Dovie Ellen Starcher Bower. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Smith, brothers, Russell Leon Bower and William Alonzo Bower, and sisters, Madeline Bower and Jessie Lisk Spitzer. Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Lorraine (Jim) McElwee of Pensacola, Florida and Dovie (Scott) Dunn of Huntington; two sisters, Bessie (Donald) Sparling of Waterford, Ohio and June (Alan) Talbott of Frederick Maryland; one grandson, Robert (Bunny) McElwee of Moncks Corner, South Carolina; two granddaughters, Nicolla Michelle Rule of Blacklick, Ohio and Tina Cathleen (Andre) Gathings of El Paso, Texas; great-grandchildren, Cierra and Isaiah Gathings, both of El Paso; and a host of nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00am Monday, February 6, 2017 at the TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME, Spencer, West Virginia with Revs. Danny Whited and Donald Cottrill officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Smith Family Cemetery, Clover, West Virginia.
