Macy M. Bowman, 89, widow of Frank Bowman, formerly of Peniel, WV died peacefully at home in Proctorville OH, December 27, 2023.

She was born February 16,1934, in Hollow of Virginia, Patrick County, the daughter of the late Kelly Montgomery and Bloomie Puckett Montgomery of Ararat Va.

Macy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother as well as a dear and special friend to many. Her whole life was selflessly dedicated to her family. She worked hard and was persistent at any task, capable of conquering anything. Her determination and passion were exhibited through her love of working outdoors in flowers. She was the fastest and best cook, always offering to feed you. She loved to laugh! A very well-loved member of both communities, she will be deeply missed, never forgotten and always held close to our hearts.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by sons Thomas Lester Bowman, Timothy Jed Bowman and Jerold Lynn Bowman. Siblings Valtie Lawson, Gracie Vipperman and Lavonna Flemming.   Son-in-Law Teodorico Lopez Vidal, Jr. and daughter-in-law Nora Jane Bowman.

She is survived by children Jacqueline Inez (Charles) Struckel of Gay, WV, Jerry Wayne Bowman of Charleston, WV, Macy Marie (Bill) Work of Williamstown, WV, Jonathan Lewis Bowman of Wallback, WV, James David Bowman of Spencer, WV, Martha Ann (Michael) Dawson of Ripley, WV, Mary Jane Bowman-Vidal of Proctorville, OH.; daughter-in-law Ellen Bowman of Reedy WV.; siblings Ozzie (Annie) Montgomery of Staley, NC,  Vicie Anne Mule of St. Augustine, FL,  Dean (Linda) Montgomery of Sunset Beach, NC,  Kenard Montgomery (Martha Collins) of Westfield, NC, and Dianne Matthews of Mt. Airy, NC.; 19 grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren with many great and step grandchildren.

Services 1:30 with visitation two hours prior on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer, WV with Pastor Danny Whited officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt.Zion Cemetery.
