Mabel (Fields) Taylor, 100, departed this life into the arms of her Savior on February 20, 2026 at Elizabeth Care Center in Elizabeth, WV.  She was born in Roane County, WV on November 29, 1925, the daughter of Thomas Talbert and Ida Jane (Kiser) Fields.  She was the ninth of ten children, eight of which survived into adulthood.  She married Crayton Taylor and they had two children-Steven (Tammie) Taylor of Trenton, IL and Treva  (Stephen) Full of Elizabeth.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by all her siblings-Bruce, Brady, Bernice, Bertie, Celia, Bessie, Kerry, Lucille, and Thomas (Lovell); and her husband of 52 years, Crayton Taylor.
She leaves behind both of her children; four grandchildren-Morgan (Adam) Junia, James (Jesseca) Full, Jennifer Full Simms, and Stephanie (Brandon) McCallister; seven great-grandchildren-Brody, Jude, Mia, John, Elizabeth, William, and Lulu; and many nieces and nephews who loved her and will miss her.
In her youth she loved to dance.  She loved music, especially gospel quartets.  She was a good cook and rarely was without a slice of homemade pie for anyone who stopped by.  She and her husband always raised a plentiful garden and happily supplied family and friends (and passing strangers) with fresh vegetables throughout the summer months.  She was an avid quilter, continuing to do hand quilting up into her early 90's, producing numerous quilts that she gifted to those she loved.  She was blessed to lead and active life well into her nineties.  She leaves behind a legacy of working hard and helping others.
A service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer, WV with Pastor Danny McVey officiating.  Burial will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery in Reedy, WV.  Visiting will be from 10:00am to 12:00 noon on Saturday.
