LENA B. HERSMAN, 84, of Gandeeville, West Virginia, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at home. She was born September 21, 1931 in Clay County, a daughter of the late John Albert and Goldie Shamblin Bishop. She was a homemaker and farmer. She is survived by her children, Brenda Funk (Harry Sutton) of Newton, West Virginia, Carolyn (Kenny) Larch of Spencer, West Virginia, Bonnie (Gary) Cook of Left Hand, West Virginia, and Dencle "Sonny" Hersman of Birch River, West Virginia; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren ; and her puppy, Fluffy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dencle "Bub" Hersman; her children, Jeneta, Harvey, Earlus Hersman, and Kathryn Drake. Service will be at 12:00 noon on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at the TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME in Spencer, with Rev. Jackie Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Hebron Cemetery near Spencer. Visiting is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
