Larry Erwin Jones, 69, of Spencer, WV, passed away July 20th, 2023 at his home in Spencer, WV. Erwin was born on November 21, 1953.

At 6 weeks old, Erwin was injured in an auto accident due to their family car being hit by a drunk driver. Dr. Gordan performed surgery to the head injury that Erwin received. Other than his slight handicap of communication, Erwin made the most of life & was always smiling.  He loved deer hunting. People around Spencer knew him as the "can man". Picking up cans was a great pass time for Erwin and he loved getting to know people. His family is very thankful for those who were friends with Erwin and who kept a watch over him.

Erwin was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Jones, Spencer, WV; his father, Bobbie Jones, Elyria, OH.

Surviving is his brother, Paul (Pamela) Jones, Berea, KY, who traveled every other week to be with Erwin and take care of his needs. A niece, Kristi (Scott) Falconberry, Richmond, KY; two nephews, Kevin (Meredith) Jones, Spanish Fort, AL and Keith (Vanya) Jones, Richmond, KY. Twelve great nephews & great nieces: McKenna, Adam, & Josiah Falconberry; Samantha, Kate, Eli, Nolan & Ella Jones; Amelia, Levi, Teddy & Sybil Jones. A special friend who was like a brother, Bernard (Jenny) Taylor.

Thank you to Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home for helping us through the sudden loss of Erwin.                  Burial was done at Bartlett/Little Creek Cemetery. A memorial service has been planned for Saturday, October 21st, at 11:00 a.m. at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home for family & friends. Those who would like may proceed to the cemetery following the memorial service, although, there will be no planned service for there.                                                                                                                                                             Remember…Life is short, eternity is forever.
