LARRY ASHLEY, 77, of Gandeeville, West Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at home following a long illness. He was born August 18, 1939 in Roane County, a son of the late Virginia June Ashley. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a retired employee of the Roane County Board of Education, and a member of Lighthouse Ministries in Walton, West Virginia. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorla Westfall Ashley; a daughter, Beth Raines of Gandeeville; a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Linda Ashley of Walton; five grandchildren, Justin Raines and wife Michelle of Walkersville, West Virginia, Ashley Glaspell and husband Kevin of Gandeeville, and Lane, Alex, and Cole Ashley, all of Walton; and three great-grandchildren, Jayden, Thea, and Nash. A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, December 2, 2016 with Rev. Jerry Board officiating. There will be no visitation or service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Lighthouse Ministries, P.O. Box 282, Walton, WV 25286, or your local Hospice Home Care organization.
