Kenneth Ray Matics, 84, of the Grace Community passed away on June 22, 2026 at Miletree in Spencer, WV.

Born on December 12, 1941 in Coal Run, Roane County, WV he was the son of the late Alfred T. & Ada Matics. He worked as a pipe liner for many years. Kenneth enjoyed managing the family farm; hunting & fishing; gardening with his wife; having morning coffee with Rex Greenleaf & Martin Prine and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Alice Ruth Nichols Matics; two sisters Rita Terrell; Tressalee Westfall; five brothers Robert Matics; Alfred Bill Matics; Donald Matics; Larry Matics; Benjamin Matics; one son in law Brice Neil Kiser Jr.

Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter Katherine Kiser of Gandeeville, WV; one son Andrew R. Matics (Vicki) of Spencer, WV; one brother James Matics (Pauline) of Columbus, OH; Two sisters in laws Daisy Matics and Janet Matics of Spencer, WV; One granddaughter Olivia Kiser of Gandeeville, WV; Three step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren.

A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M on Friday June 26, 2026 at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home with public visitation to be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Larry Greathouse & Phillip Linger officiating. Dinner will be after the graveside at Gilboa Church in Spencer, WV. Arrangements have been entrusted to Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home.
