John Wesley Phillips, 49, was born in Roane County to mother, Barbara June King Phillips and father, Charles Ernest Phillips on January 23rd, 1973.
John had worked in a few different professions over his lifetime, but his most recent was in furniture upholstery. He enjoyed the outdoors and was a skilled mechanic and handyman. Anyone who knew John would tell you that he was an exceptionally charismatic person, who never knew a stranger and made friends everywhere he went.
John was preceeded in death by both parents, Charles Ernest Phillips, Sr of Reedy and Barbara June King Phillips of Spencer, and by his eldest brother, Charles Ernest King, Jr of Anchorage, Alaska. John was the father of two children, Cierra Lynn McAlister of Spencer and Wesley John Phillips of Lincolnton, NC. He was a new loving grandfather to two beautiful girls, Kyara and Lilith, both of Spencer, WV.
He is survived by three sisters, Terry Phillips Gray of Lincolnton, Janet Adams of Spencer, WV and Amanda Lawson, of Amma, WV, as well as many aunts and uncles and many, many good friends.
Graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon, December 17, 2022 at the Otto Cemetery with Pastor Danny Whited officiating.
