JEAN ROBERTS GAINER, 95, of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2016 at the Roane General Hospital in Spencer. She was born September 30, 1920 in Berea, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Edward and Amelia Pierson Roberts. She was a retired teacher at Spencer High School and a member of the St. John's United Methodist Church. Mrs. Gainer is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Shirley Gainer of Spencer; two grandchildren, Nikki Gainer Jackson and her husband Cory Jackson and Craig Gainer; and five great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Chloe Gainer, Adrick Lamar and Devine and Xavier Jackson. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Gainer and a son, Mike Gainer. A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the Eventide Cemetery with Rev. David Hall officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer is in charge of the arrangements.
