JANET RITA DAVIS, 89, of Peniel, West Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg, West Virginia.

She was born September 23, 1934 in Easton, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Wilbur and Kathryn Fitzgibbon Lucas.  She worked 10 years for the Civil Service on Long Island, New York, and part time with Welfare Finance and Hospital Development Company.  She also formerly worked for H & R Block, 10 years with the Jackson County Housing Authority and was a 30-year director with Roane County Helping Hand.  She was also a member of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Spencer, West Virginia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Charles Davis in 2015; sister, Linda King; and brothers, Wilbur and David Lucas.

Janet is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Caldwell of Peniel; five sons, Kevin (Pam) of Sandyville, West Virginia, Kyle (Kim) of Leroy, West Virginia, Kurt (Leslie) of Destin, Florida, Keith  (Jeanette) of Peniel, and Kane of Peniel; sisters, Veronica Lucas of Peniel and Andrea Mastandrea of Virginia Beach, Virginia; brothers, Peter Lucas of Easton, Pennsylvania, Michael Lucas of Long Island, and Daniel Lucas of Manchester, Georgia; grandchildren , Justin, Shane, Jennifer, Taylor, Dalton, Payten, Aiden, Ethan, and Owen; and seven great grandchildren.

A short memorial service will start at 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer with Pastor Jeff Keffer officiating.  Visiting will start at 3:00 P.M. until the time of the service on Thursday.  Burial will take place at a later date at the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Peniel.
