JAMES WILBUR (WEBB) HICKMAN, SR., 93 of Spencer passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, August 11, 2025 with his family by his side.
He was born March 1, 1932 in Spencer, a son of the late Shirley and Etta Waldeck Hickman. Webb was a born again Christian who wanted to see all of his friends and loved ones saved by grace thru faith.  He loved his church and Jesus with all his heart, loved going fishing, and watching and listening to all kinds of sports.  He coached Little League baseball and softball and loved working with the kids.  He loved to golf and being around his friends talking and reminiscing about times past, and loved his dogs, Cricket, Rastus, Charlie, and now Buddy.  He was retired from the Spencer Housing Authority and also worked at Monarch Rubber for 20 years.
Webb is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Kathy Hickman of Spencer; Sherrry and Beau Fry;  grandchildren, Shali and Tommy Casto of Ripley, Katie Rhodes of Spencer, Jamie Hickman and Bobby Bowman of St. Clairsville, Ohio, Brad Hickman of Spencer, and Chase Fry of Ripley; and great-grandchildren, Brady and Gracie Rhodes, and Jaelyn, Hadley, and Wyatt Hickman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Donna Hickman; son, James W. (Jimmy) Hickman, and brothers, John, Robert (Bob), and Holly (Hod) Hickman.
Service will be at 1:00pm on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer with Pastor John Ellison officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hodam Cemetery near Spencer.  Visiting will be from 11:00am until time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the local animal shelter and /or visit the Pleasant Grove Church.
