James "Jim" Noble Carpenter, 75, of Gandeeville, WV passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023 at home after an extended illness.

He was born April 9, 1948 in Gandeeville and was the only son of the late Johnny and Maxine Ellis Carpenter.

He was a Walton High School graduate, class of 1966. He worked hard his whole life for his family. From the coal mines, to driving a tanker for Ureka, and co-owning B&J's Restaurant in Spencer, WV. Last but not least he retired after 17 years as an over the road truck driver for Star Transport. He enjoyed the rest of his time at home with his family.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 47 years, Betty Goodwin Carpenter; his children, J. Nicholas Carpenter of Spencer and Jennifer Godbey of Gandeeville and Jamie Rhone of Mullins, WV; grandchildren, Zachary O'Neill (Summer), Payton Carpenter (Hailee), Arianna Rhone, Kenneth Godbey, Zander Carpenter and Junior Godbey; and one great-grandchild, Everleigh Faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. ~ Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
