Jack Starcher, 82, of Ivydale, WV formerly of Otto, WV in Roane County passed away August 27, 2024 at his residence.

He was born March 6, 1942 in Otto and was the son of the late Carl and Hester Sirk Starcher.

Jack was a United States Air Force veteran. He was an extremely gifted carpenter and loved to work with his hands. Jack enjoyed his 36 Plymouth, working on cars and antiques and loved his two companion dogs dearly, Jay Jay and Jay II.

Left behind to cherish his memory is his daughter, Amy Starcher Nestler of Tampa, FL; brother, Sonny Starcher of Melbourne, FL; grandchildren, Brieanna Nestler and Alexa Sheppard both of Tampa, FL; and several close nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James and Whetzel Starcher.

Services will be 12:00 P.M. ~ Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer with Danny Whited officiating. Burial to follow at Otto Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00-6:00 P.M. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made in Jack's memory to the Clay County Humane Association at P.O. Box 156 Ivydale, WV 25113.
