Irene Ellis, 83, of Spencer, West Virginia passed away on June 28, 2025 at the Mountain View Care Center in Ripley, WV.
Irene was born on September 24, 1941 in Spencer, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Charlie and Mabel Ash Waggoner. She was a homemaker, and liked reading and word search puzzles.  She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Newton, WV.
She is survived by two daughters; Cheryl Ellis and Teresa(Buddy) Armstead all of Spencer; three sisters, Rosalee Alvis of Parkersburg, Mary Lou Sizemore of Spencer, and Peggy Freeland, of Reedy; one brother, Grover Waggoner, of Spencer; three grandchildren, Trey Armstead of Spencer, Brittany(Jesse)Lipscomb, of Elkview, and Zach Armstead of Spencer; three great-grandchildren, Kadence Armstead, Zia, Quinn and Logan Lipscomb; two great-great- grandchildren, Brantley and Blair Drake.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Charles D. Ellis.
Service will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, in Spencer, with the Pastor Roy Huffman officiating. Visiting hours will be two hours prior to service. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery near Spencer, West Virginia.
