GREGORY SCOTT WEST, 55, of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at home. He was born June 4, 1962 in South Charleston, West Virginia, a son of Irene Payne West of Parkersburg, West Virginia and the late Joseph Ray West. He was employed at Roane General Hospital in Spencer in the Maintenance department and attended the Calvary Baptist Church in Spencer. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Evelyn West; a daughter, Sara (Troy Martin) Swain of Sissonville, West Virginia; a son, Michael (Jamie) West of Hurricane, West Virginia; a sister, Teresa (Scott) Haverty of Mineral Wells, West Virginia; a niece, Dani (Nick) Reed; a nephew, Kyle Haverty; and three grandchildren, Skylar, Charlie, and Caeley. Service will be at 3:00pm on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer, with Pastor Austin Harper officiating. Burial will follow in the Swank Cemetery near Spencer. Visiting will be Tuesday from 1:00pm until time of the service.
