Obituary

Gladys March Wyatt Cottle,98 of Reedy, WV passed peacefully on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at her home.  She fought hard to make her goal of seeing 100 but God had made other plans.  She was born March 11, 1926, in Reedy, WV, a daughter of the late Okey "Pete" and Mabel Farnsworth Wyatt.

She was a 1944 graduate of Spencer High School and a retiree of Norris Industries in Spencer, WV.  She was an amazing woman with a strength of determination that many could only imagine.  She loved her family and friends with all of her being.  She loved caring for those around her.  If you left her home hungry it was because you did not accept her loving hospitality.  She was famous among her family for her graham cracker pie.  It was always the first dish to disappear at family functions.  She had several health scares later in life and somehow always seemed to bounce back despite medical predictions.  She stubbornly liked to prove the doctors wrong and always said the Good Lord still had plans for her.  She will be greatly missed.

Left behind to cherish her memory are sisters Doris Miller and Barbara Greathouse. Sister-in-law and special friend Alice Faye Wyatt.  Son, James (Sharon) Cottle of Lore City, OH.  Grandchildren, Scott (Donna Nicholas) Cottle of Lore City, OH, Kelly (Tom Kotol) Cottle of New Concord, OH, Teresa (Ed Bowen) Cottle of Reedy, WV, Tommy Cottle of Mason, WV, Tony (Mary) Cottle of Millwood, WV, Danny, Debbie, and Barbie Cottle.  Great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn (John) Stutler, Taylour (Michael) Huey, Jessica (Tyler) Earle, Austin (Sabrina) Bowen, Brooke (Josh) Bigrigg, Haleigh (Nicholas Pawloski) Cottle, Rachel Cottle, Elijah (Kylee) Bowen, Antonia Cottle, Devon Barker, Amber Queen, and Logan, Erin, and Jeremiah Cottle. Great-great-grandchildren Addison, Emerson, and Karson Huey; Freya and Maeve Stutler; Paityn and Dutton Bowen, Bindi Jo Bigrigg, Asher Bowen, Austyn, Zeke, Ashlin, Kaylee, and James. Niece, Deanna Cottle; friend, Wendy Haverty, who helped care for her in her home when her health failed and several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, James Elijah Cottle.  Children, Thomas Camden Cottle and Mabel Frances Cottle. Brothers, Charles, Clarence "Dick", and Fordyce "Faud" Wyatt and sisters, Dorothy Lee, Madge Mellinger, Wanda Drake, Ruth Harris, and Elaine Miller.
