Gifford Deo Roberts, 92, of Spencer, WV passed away November 28, 2021 at Roane General Hospital in the long-term care center after an extended illness.

He was born February 9, 1929 in Calhoun County, WV and was son of the late Burla and Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Wayne) Roberts of Calhoun County, WV.

Gifford was a United States Korean War veteran and had retired from Monarch Rubber after 37 yeas of service. He enjoyed the outdoors, walking, socializing downtown Spencer, playing dominos and gardening.

Left behind to cherish his memory, are his children, Anthony (Sherri Fields) Roberts of Spencer, WV, Randy (Dena Fluharty) Roberts of Parkersburg, WV and Beverly Roberts of Tampa, FL; step-children, Lamire (Lynn) Fouty of Ripley, WV, Chris (Kenny) Ash of Spencer, WV, Kim (Dana) Camp of Roane County, WV and Holly Paugh of Texas; one sister, Lela Carpenter of Cleveland, OH; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant brother, Harley; three brothers, Holly, Guy, and George Roberts; and two sisters, Genevieve Stump and Jewel Vanke.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. ~ Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Eventide Cemetery in Spencer, WV. A memorial service will be held in the spring at a later date.
