GEORGE SAUNDERS, 92, of Spencer, West Virginia passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at CAMC General in Charleston, West Virginia. He was born November 25, 1927 in Roane County, a son of the late Albert and Olive Saunders. He was formerly employed by Ford Motor Company in Cleveland, Ohio and enjoyed farming for many years, dancing, and music. He gave his life to the Lord on July 13, 2017 at the age of 89. He loved going to church and was a great witness to many. He is survived by three sons, Jerry and Peggy Saunders, Larry and Delores Saunders, and Steve and Mary Saunders, all of Spencer; two daughters, Judy and Fred White and Naomi and Jack Whiting, all of Spencer; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 26 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Mildred Saunders; a granddaughter, Dreama Saunders; a great-grandson, Cole Saunders; a grandson, Richard Bryan Whiting; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Saunders; brothers, Harvey and Nana, Orland, and Edward and Helen; and sister, Alma and Glenn. A graveside service will be held at 10:00am on Friday, June 26, 2020 at the Swank Cemetery on Speed Road with Rev. Phillip Linger officiating. There will be no visitation or service at the funeral home. Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer is in charge of the arrangements.
