FREDA B. WEST SCOTT, 87, of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at the Roane General Hopistal.
She was born May 21, 1933 in Roane County, a daughter of the late Charles Dennis and Mary Ann Price West. She was retired from Kellwood Company and the Roane County Board of Education, was a volunteer with the Roane General Hospital Auxiliary, and was a member the Speed United Methodist Church.
Freda is survived by her sisters, Jewell Boggs of Spencer, Ruth Ray of Fairplain, West Virginia, Virginia Raines of Mineral Wells, West Virginia, Alice Harper of Falling Rock, West Virginia, and Marie Starcher of Morehead, Kentucky; and her brother, Earl West of Cottageville, West Virginia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth D. Scott in 1998; a sister, Irene Allen; and brothers, Oshel, Buell, James Otis, Joe, Dayton, and Junior West.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Roane General Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility for their love and care of Freda.
Service will be Friday, April 23, 2021 at 1:00pm at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer with Pastor Ron Daugherty officiating. Burial will follow in the Eventide Cemetery in Spencer. Visiting is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In accordance with the state mandate, masks must be worn and social distancing observed.
