Evae Mae Whited, 97, of Spencer, WV, passed away March 20, 2026, in Roane General Hospital, Spencer, WV.

She was born June 7, 1928, in Spencer, WV, a daughter of the late Rome and Dessie (Keen) Cottrell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Denver Ray Whited; sister, Norma (Cottrell) Allen; brother, Jerome "Sonny" Cottrell.

She was a homemaker and taught Sunday school for many years. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her hobbies included quilting, sewing, gardening, flowers, and animals.

Evae is survived by sons, Gary (Glenda) Whited of Allen TX, Randy (Donna) Whited of Spencer, WV, Danny (Carolyn) Whited of Spencer, WV, and Ronnie (Alice) Whited of Tampa, FL; daughter, Linda (John) Walters of Parkersburg, WV; sister, Leona Looney of Mingo Junction, OH; brother, Gary Cottrell; 15 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, WV. Funeral Service will be on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., with burial to follow at the Ward Gandee Chapel Cemetery with Pastor Danny and Pastor Randy Whited officiating.
