EVA CAROLINE JARVIS PARSONS, 94, of Spencer, West Virginia, went to her Heavenly home on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the Carehaven Nursing Home in Belmont, West Virginia. She was born January 6, 1923 at Stinson, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Nelson and Lora Hicks Jarvis. She was retired from the Spencer State Hospital and formerly worked at Kellwood Company in Spencer and Westinghouse in Mansfield, Ohio. She enjoyed visiting people and was a very active member in her church, the Spencer Church of the Nazarene, where she was a member of the church board stewarts, was a Sunday School teacher, a coordinator of Cradle Roll for in-home visits, and was a recipient of the distinguished service award. Eva is survived by her son, Jonathan Mark Parsons of Spencer; two grandchildren, Jaci (Jonathan) Livermore of Russellville, Arkansas and Brandi Parsons of New Martinsville, West Virginia; a step-granddaughter, Shannon (Doug) Fouts of Williamstown, West Virginia; five great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Earl Parsons in 1971; four sisters, Myrtle Lauber, Mae Moss, Violet Smith, and Ruby May; and three brothers, Harry, Ernest, and Cecil Jarvis. A celebration of life will be held at 2:30pm on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at the Spencer Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Bradley Petitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Clover Cemetery. Visiting hours are Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer.
