EUGENE LAUGHLIN, 88, of Arnoldsburg, West Virginia, passed away on May 26, 2017 at CAMC General in Charleston, West Virginia. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Lewis and Lovie (Townsend) Laughlin. He worked for Haughn Construction and Houchin Construction before retiring in 1991. Gene enjoyed hunting and fishing, was a member of the Bear Fork Hunting Club, and was also a volunteer at the West Fork Community Building during the yearly Molasses Festival. He is survived by his wife, Esther (Murphy) Laughlin; one daughter, Norma Laughlin; one sister, Florence Hall; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Floda, Flo, and Obal; and five brothers, Doyle, Brooks, Roy, Lonzo, and Brice. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer, West Virginia, with Pastor Rick Metheney officiating. Burial will follow in the Bailey Cemetery on Beech in Calhoun County. Visiting will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
