Esther Ward, 94, of Spencer, WV passed away June 17, 2026 at Miletree Center in Spencer, WV.

She was born February 28, 1932 in Spencer, WV and was the daughter of late Thomas Willie Hedges and Eska Hildreth Hedges.

Esther was a homemaker for many years she really enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking and listening to the radio station. She loved spending time around friends and family.

Left behind to cherish her memory one son Ronald Ward of Spencer, WV.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ernest James Ward, one son Gary Ward; three sisters Irene Linger; Helen Steele Burdette; Deanie Webb.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026 at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home at 2:00 pm with Pastor Phillip Linger officiating. Visitation will be held at 1:00pm.
