She was born on July 25, 1930, in Nebo, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Carl Hylbert and Lillian Lansden Hylbert. She worked as a registered nurse and brought compassion and dedication to her profession. Beyond her career, she was a talented artist who drew, painted, wrote lovely calligraphy and played the piano beautifully. Sue is survived by her daughter, Lynda Alexander of Aberdeen, North Carolina; her sisters, Faye Matics and Patricia Hylbert; her grandchild, Christina Whiteley; and her great-grandchild, Ellie.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. On April 18, 2026 at First Baptist Church in Spencer, West Virginia, with Mark Woods officiating.
